Falmouth Service Center: More Than a Food Pantry

After 41 years of service, the Falmouth Service Center (FSC) is well known as a food pantry, a key component of the charitable food system and a vital economic support for residents of the Cape Cod region. What is less known is the flow of donated clothes, linens, books, and household goods that reach clients each week. The Clothing and Household Assistance Program is a highly valued client program and we are grateful for the donors and volunteers who are committed to its success.

Little by little, a little becomes A LOT!
— Tanzanian Proverb

For the past several years, racks of clothing and bins of household goods have been brought outside to share with clients. This has left the program vulnerable to inclement weather. With the expansion of our physical space into a year-round clothing room we will be better able to accommodate the growing number of client households served and provide an increased range of adult and children's clothing and household items.

This project would not be possible without the many volunteers who dedicate their time and talents to equitably fulfilling our mission. Volunteers from Hand in hand and FSC work together to ensure that our clients have access to the most essential clothing and household items.

  • It's more than just a shirt; it's the priceless gift of confidence you experience when walking into a job interview well-dressed.

  • It's the peace of mind that comes with knowing you will have winter coats to keep your children warm in the colder months.

  • It's the comfort that comes with having the things you need to turn a house into a comfortable home.

Volunteers are the heart and soul of our organization. Their combined efforts promote greater access to opportunities and resources for our neighbors.

This scholarship recognizes students who embody Brenda's values of leadership, inclusiveness, respect and compassion. It is awarded to a FHS senior going into human services or education related fields. Aiden dedicated more than 100 hours of volunteer service to the FSC pantry.
