Feeding America
Feeding America is the nation's leading hunger relief charity. The organization's 200+ food banks (including the Greater Boston Food Bank) supply food to more than 37 million Americans each year. The Falmouth Service Center is a member agency of the Greater Boston Food Bank.
Mass 2-1-1
Mass 2-1-1 will connect you to information about health and human services available in your community. It will help you find government benefits and services, nonprofit organizations, support groups, volunteer opportunities, donation programs, and other local resources. All calls are confidential and the service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
MAZON - A Jewish Response to Hunger
MAZON is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing and alleviating hunger among people of all faiths and backgrounds. Since its inception, MAZON has awarded grants totaling more than $58 million to organizations representing the nation’s anti-hunger network, including: food banks, food pantries, and home-delivered meal programs. The Falmouth Service Center has been a recipient of funds from MAZON.
Project Bread
Project Bread is dedicated to alleviating, preventing, and ultimately ending hunger in Massachusetts. Programs include a toll-free FoodSource Hotline, a statewide information and referral service for people facing hunger; development of new ways to feed hungry people; and, the Walk for Hunger that raises millions of dollars each year in privately donated funds.
Safelink Wireless Phone
SafeLink Wireless offers the Lifeline Service, a program that lets qualifying customers to receive discounts on their monthly telephone service. SafeLink offers a version of the Lifeline Service that includes a free cellular phone service, a free SafeLink Wireless cell phone, and a guarantee that you will get no bills and no contracts. Eligibility guidelines vary by state but in general if you may be eligible if you qualify or participate in a public assistance program or based on your family’s total monthly income. To enroll, you will need to bring one of the following: MassHealth card, SNAP card, SSI card, or TANF card.
The Greater Boston Food Bank
The Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB) is the largest hunger-relief organization in New England and among the largest food banks in the country. Last year, they distributed almost 35 million pounds of food, enough to provide healthy meals to as many as 545,000 people at risk of hunger. GBFB acquires food through product donations from the food industry, food drives, and financial contributions. The Falmouth Service Center is a member agency and gets much of its food from the GBFB.
