Fuel assistance program runs November 1, 2023 through April 30, 2024.

To apply, call NOW to book and in-person appointment at the Falmouth Service Center, 611 Gifford Street, Falmouth.

You can also apply online by visiting the South Shore Community Action Council website at SSCAC.org.

What is Fuel Assistance?

Do you need help heating your home? The Fuel Assistance program can help! The South Shore Community Action Council (SSCAC) is the local administering agency for the Massachusetts Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). The Fuel Assistance/LIHEAP program is intended to provide assistance to those low-income households that are the most vulnerable to the high home heating costs many face in the New England area.

When can I apply for Fuel Assistance?

The Fuel Assistance Program begins on November 1st and runs until April 30th.

How do I apply for Fuel Assistance?

Complete your application by visiting the South Shore Community Action Council website (SSCAC.org). Once your application is approved by SSCAC, both you and your primary heating company (vendor) receive a written notification from SSCAC indicating the amount you have been approved for. This amount is not guaranteed, but is based upon funding availability.
